cfObjective 2010 – Things to do pt. 1: The Magnolias
Posted by Fred Anderson on December 26th, 2009I realize that this is a bit premature since most people have not made plans or commitments for cfObjective yet. cfObjective is scheduled for April 22-24 2010. On April 23rd and April 24th The Magnolias will be playing shows at First Avenue in Minneapolis MN. The conference is being held at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis so First Ave is within walking distance.

I first heard The Magnolias on a mixtape that a friend gave me in '86, I grew up in a ex-urb of Minneapolis and to me the music was everything the Minnesota Sound would become. The Replacements, Soul Asylum, Husker Du etc... I realize it is not necisarliy a fair comparison, but it is to me. So is you like the early albums of the bands I mentioned then I suggest you make it a point to see the show.

The Twins will be in the new Target Field and there is a night game on Wed Apr 21 vs CLE at 7:10 PM. It would be an easy walk from the Hyatt.
@troy you are correct, walking is easy, getting tickets may be another story :) But I would be up getting a group of people together for this.
